Hardly anyone doesn’t have an opinion about climate change — from scientists to school kids. And the debate can get pretty extreme.
At one extreme, there’s panic — we’ve messed up the planet and we’re in deep trouble unless we get our act together (if it’s not already too late!). At the other, there’s complacency, scepticism or outright hostility towards the ‘green agenda’.
Within the Christian camp there are some people making noise about concern for the environment. Others who sense that it may distract us from gospel-focussed, mission living. And the rest of us just want to bury our heads in the sand because we find it all just a bit … bewildering.
What should we think as evangelical Christians? What should we feel? It may not be easy — or convenient — but is it Christian being Green?
